Contemporary elegant wedding flowers

This blog features REAL wedding inspiration from Katie & Elliot who married in the Autumn at Lion House weddings. The colour palette was white and blush and the flower brief was contemporary elegant wedding flowers.  The wedding flowed across three different rooms throughout the day starting with the ceremony, then the wedding breakfast and finally the evening reception. We made one set of flower arrangements which worked perfectly in all three areas.  An excellent example of how to repurpose the flower arrangements with no one ever noticing!  We loved the relaxed vibe of this wedding and adored the fact that each bridesmaid got to choose their own dress, just so individual and perfectly mismatched!

Autumnal white wedding flowers

Katie chose autumnal white wedding flowers to complement the blush bridesmaids’ dresses. We matched this throughout in the bridal flowers and venue flowers using a mix of roses and hydrangeas. We also incorporated gorgeous autumnal touches – black berried viburnum, moody white anemones with navy centres and lots of berried eucalyptus.

Lion House weddings

Lion House weddings has a stylish art deco canvas equally as impressive on its own as it is sympathetic to style up with your desired decorative florals.

The site houses the original 15th century tavern, which has evolved in the last decade into a successful gastronomical experience sourcing fresh local ingredients; an ethos which we have embedded into the wedding venue. The food is AMAZING! My family and I are huge fans of the restaurant and visit regularly.

With a dedicated wedding co-ordinator, the lovely Georgina on hand from your initial enquiry until your evening reception, the close-knit team offer a personalised and bespoke service. The day is truly your own with every celebration tailored for.

Contemporary elegant floral designs

The simplistic styling for this intimate wedding ceremony works well – contemporary elegant floral designs, yet understated! Different shaped and sized vases were used in repetition to create a bold landscape with just one variety of flower for maximum impact. Large headed white hydrangeas, domes of white roses and fluffy white carnations and single stems of anemones. Not only does the use of glassware look incredible, but it also has the benefit of being totally moveable and can therefore be reused elsewhere in the wedding after the ceremony.

Repurpose the flower arrangements

We love a design that has more than one placement or purpose throughout the day. Although the ceremony is the most important part of the day, it is also the shortest part of the day. So, with this in mind, it is a good tip to use the flowers again eleswhere if possible. For this wedding we were able to repurpose the flower arrangements from the ceremony to the wedding breakfast and then again to the evening reception.

Perfectly mismatch Bridesmaid dresses

Perfectly mismatched bridesmaid dresses result in happy maids! Katie presented her bridesmaids with a colour brief and left them each to choose their own dress to reflect their individuality. How fantastic do they look? The variety – same colour but different fabrics, silhouettes, embellishments each so unique and personal, we think the overall look is just stunning! Didn’t they do well? For the bridesmaid’s bouquets we used similar flowers to the bridal bouquet, simple white hydrangeas with roses and eucalyptus. The gorgeous little flower girl wore a pretty gypsophila flower crown and carried a basket of fresh rose petal for confetti.
