About Blake Hall
Blake Hall is only offered for exclusive use and is licensed for civil ceremonies either inside the beautifully converted Hay Barn or outside under the canopy of the old Saddlery. Reception drinks can be enjoyed outside on the pretty lawn and terraces between the barns, or inside in the spacious Hay Barn. This leaves the Essex Barn for the wedding breakfast and evening entertainment. We absolutely love designing and creating wedding flowers at this stunning venue.
Laura & Sam
Laura and Sam first met on a university careers panel, but left with nothing more than a handshake and a LinkedIn request. That is until fate (aka Tinder) intervened and they reconnected in February 2017. That summer they made the relationship official on the steps of Piazza Michelangelo, Florence and made a promise to be there for each other through everything that was to come.
Five years, eight holidays, four homes, one dog and a ton of amazing memories later, Sam asked Laura to marry him as the sun set over beautiful Santorini. The easiest yes.
On Friday, 30th June 2023, Laura-Jane and Samuel would love for you to join them as they begin the next stage of their adventure – one which they hope will be filled with as much fun, love and laughter as their story so far.
Bridal Flowers
Laura & Sam chose Ivory, White and green as there colour scheme for this very chic summer wedding at Blake Hall . Laura’s bouquet was large style with roses, hydrangeas, peonies, Astible, veronica and whispers of gypsophila with eucalyptus and soft ruscus foliage. For the 5 bridesmaids Laura chose a similar version to her bouquet
Buttonholes
Roses are always a good choice for buttonholes. They are elegant and timeless and last well out of water. For this wedding we chose Ivory rose framed with a little green leaf for the boys and for the Groom we added a lysianthus, gypsophila along with the rose and foliage.

Ceremony flowers, The Hay barn
Sitting across the lawn from the Essex Barn and adjacent to the Saddlery, the stunning restoration of the Hay Barn completes the trilogy of barns for your use at Blake Hall.
The Hay Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 150 guests and with its beam-lined aisle, and magnificent picture window, provides a beautiful, year round, in-door alternative for wedding ceremonies at Blake Hall.
It is also be available for reception drinks, if you chose not to be outside on the terrace, leaving the Essex barn for your wedding breakfast and evening entertainment.
The flowers in the ceremony were all re-purposed and used for the wedding breakfast. That is a definite bonus of having both the ceremony and reception at the same venue as it is very easy to move and we can help you create designs that work in both areas.
The Wedding Breakfast
Laura & Sam chose a mix of high and low level designs for the guest tables. The High level designs were used in the ceremony area first as “Statement florals” at the front framing the window area and making the perfect picture backdrop and focal point for all the wedding guests.
We chose a mix of rustic and chic styling so it complimented the character and the barn setting whilst still being a little chic and not too rustic. “Rustic chic!”
Hire package
We have a selection of hire props that compliment your wedding flower decor. It is “bespoke” for each wedding as you choose which props you need from our selection. Our hire package is “Eco-friendly” as avoid single use (as the items are used in many of our weddings). It includes us collecting the next day, cleaning and getting ready for the next wedding. You can use our vases with your own candles and we can help advise you on the candle sizes you need. Included in this wedding:
