2020 Pantone Colour of the year

Something old, something new, something borrowed and something……….BLUE!    So, it has been documented that “Classic blue” is the Pantone colour of 2020 and we have definitely been seeing this come through in our bridal choices for both last year, this year and next!   We love the calmness of this shade and although there are not a huge variety of naturally blue flowers, they are enough to combine with neutral coloured flowers and foliage for a subtle touch.

In Ami’s bouquet last summer at Hutton Hall we combined David Austin White O’Hara roses with lots of Eucalyptus foliage.  Eucalyptus has a lovely soft silver/blue hue rather than green.  We also used blue thistles and delicate soft blue nigella.  It looked just fab against the soft blue bridesmaids’ dresses.

Other varieties of naturally soft blue flowers include hydrangeas, delphiniums, nigella and thistles.  If the groomsmen are wearing Navy Blue then a pastel tones compliments it perfectly. Like a blush rose for example.  Photo credit goes to the super talented www.gemmagiorgio.com.  Thank you for sharing Gemma!
